BT One Phone alternative —
find your replacement
BT One Phone is gone. Your business needs a replacement that delivers the same experience — calls arriving natively on your mobile, no app required. GoYap uses the same EE network via Transatel to do exactly that, plus desk phone and softphone on one system.
Why BT One Phone was switched off
BT One Phone combined a business mobile SIM with a hosted phone system — one number that rang on your desk phone and mobile simultaneously. It was popular with field teams, sales staff and businesses with mobile workers. BT withdrew the service in March 2026 as part of its transition away from legacy telephony infrastructure ahead of the full PSTN switch-off in January 2027.
BT One Phone and BT Cloud Voice are not the same product
Many businesses being pushed by BT toward Cloud Voice as a "replacement" should understand they are being offered a fundamentally different product.
A true FMC product. Calls arrived natively on your mobile SIM via the EE network — no app, no data connection. One number rang desk phone and mobile simultaneously. Built for field teams and mobile workers.
- ✓ Native SIM calling — no app required
- ✓ One number, desk and mobile simultaneously
- ✓ One voicemail, one call log, one CLI
- ✓ Works with any mobile handset
- ✗ Switched off March 2026 — no longer available
A hosted VoIP desk phone system. Calls are delivered over IP to desk phones and softphones. Mobile support requires a separate BT Business Mobile add-on. Built for office-based teams, not mobile workers.
- ✓ Solid desk phone system
- ✓ Good for office-based teams
- ~ Mobile requires separate BT Business Mobile add-on
- ✗ Not native FMC — not a like-for-like replacement
- ✗ 60-month contract commitment
If your team relied on BT One Phone for native mobile calling, BT Cloud Voice alone will not replicate that. The alternatives below will.
What BT One Phone actually cost
BT One Phone is no longer available, but understanding what it cost helps you compare like-for-like with today's alternatives. All prices exclude VAT.
| Entry / micro-business | £25.00/user/mo |
| Standard (unlimited UK calls, texts + shared data) | £35.00/user/mo |
| Premium / enterprise (heavy data + international) | £45.00+/user/mo |
| Call recording | £5.00/user/mo |
| International call pool sharing | £1.00/user/mo |
| Out-of-bundle UK voice | 54.37p/min |
| Out-of-bundle SMS | 15p/message |
| Out-of-bundle mobile data | 15.52p/MB |
A standard BT One Phone user on the £35/user/month plan with call recording was paying £40/user/month as a minimum — before any out-of-bundle charges. GoYap FMC starts from £24.95/user/month for the phone system plus cellular licence, with data bundles configured and priced separately based on what each user actually needs. Call recording is included in the GoYap feature set. There are no long-term contracts — GoYap operates on a 12-month term.
All BT One Phone pricing is historic. The platform was decommissioned in March 2026 and is no longer available for new or existing customers.
