Why this site exists

Compare it Market was built on a simple observation: businesses trying to replace a phone system or broadband connection could not find enough clear information in one place to make an educated decision, or even to set a sensible budget. Supplier websites tell you their product is the answer. Very few tell you what things actually cost, what the alternatives are, or what changes like the PSTN switch-off really mean for a small business.

So we spent months putting that information in one place: what systems cost, how they compare, what questions to ask, and what to avoid. The guides on this site are written to help you make the right decision for your business — even if that decision is not one we would earn anything from.

The experience behind it

The site is built and maintained by people with forty years in the UK telecoms industry — installing, supporting and running business phone systems and connectivity through every generation of the technology, from analogue lines and ISDN through to hosted VoIP, SoGEA and full fibre. The advice here comes from decades of seeing what actually works in real businesses, not from a marketing department.

How we make money

The service is free to use. When you request quotes, we match your requirements to suppliers and may receive a commission if you buy — including from telecoms services within our own group. That is disclosed here because you deserve to know it. It does not change the information in our guides: pricing, comparisons and recommendations are researched and presented to be accurate whether or not we benefit.

Business phone systems, broadband and leased lines, business mobile, Microsoft 365 licensing, IT support, guest WiFi, CCTV and door entry — with a particular focus on helping UK businesses through the January 2027 PSTN switch-off.
